Birthday cruise to Norway

For my birthday we had booked a 48 hour cruise to Oslo for the whole family and then this was the vessel they came up

Ellen and I had a fun game of bob. I think Rita liked the colors.

High intensity

Caught at a busy moment getting the turkey ready for our Thanksgiving meal. It was fun and great. It's a completely traditional fare but we usually experiment with one of the pies. This year, I had fallen over this double chocolate peanut butter pie. Merete made it. It was riiiich.

Halloween

From Rita's class Halloween party. The girls had so much fun. They drank toxic waste and ate cut off fingers and danced danced danced. Brought back memories of this summer's visit to Hexentanz Platz

On our fall break in Sweden we took one evening where we made a bonfire, roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. Rita got so caught up with a book she just had to read it by the fire.

All for myself

All for myself

While the boys are in Italy we have gone to Sweden. We spent the whole day shopping in Kristiansstad. Rita loved it all. Especially when We went to this cafe and let her choose what ever she wanted. It turned out to be a meringue canon ball with a whipped cream filling. Luckily Rita only managed 2 bites before she was stuffed!

Abfahrt

Boy it was early. It was dark. And it was cold. The boys had to board the band bus at 5.30 leaving for Italy. They'll be gone for a week. I hope they will have a good time and play a lot of music.

Tarzan

We finally got Axel's pictures from this summer developed and found this great picture. What a tiger!

Does she know what she's touching?

The library had a show and feel day where Copenhagen zoo came out to tell about pets and how to take care of them. Rita got really into it except but scared when the praying manthis tried to crawl up he sleeve. I guess they forgot to tell they only bite males.

Odd serenade

Rita and Axel decided to practice together - a Christmas carrol for flute and trumpet. They had a lot of fun helping each other through the difficult parts.

Long live Pippi

Rita and her friend Cecilie volonteered to clean up the small bathroom. It certainly got cleaned - the Pippi way. Wet feet and all. It was a lot of fun.

Carpark north

The Danish band Carpark north at concert in Copenhagen. I had to chaperone Erik and Alex to their first rock concert the time could have been worse spent. It was fun. This is one of Erik's favorites. I like this the most.

Diploma

Yesterday, Ellen got her diploma for her communications degree. We were all there to cheer and celebrate. It really has been a great accomplishment with excellent grades.

Dad tour

The kids and I are on our annual trip in to the wilderness. Last night we went swimming under a magnificent full moon.

Astrid Lindgrens Värld

Rita and Ellen visited Astrid Lindgren's Land yesterday. It's a theme park in Sweden showing buildings and scenes from Lindgren's books. This scene is not Gulliver in Brobdingnag but Nils Karlsson Pyssling. They came back to dau in high spirits after a great trip.

Haithabu

The largest city in Northern Europe during the Viking age. A veritabel metropolis of 1000 inhabitants.

Friedrichsbrunn

The town we stayed in didn't have much to offer but it did have schnitzel paradise-with 200 varieties of schnitzel! The kids was so disappointed that Wednesday was ruhetag and closed so they didn't get a farewell meal.

Tired hikers

5,5 km hike through the forrest after visiting Hexentanzenplatz wore all out.
